Raleigh Orthopaedic Now Accepts the Lantern NC State Health Plan Care Program

Raleigh Orthopaedic is pleased to announce that we now participate in the Lantern NC State Health Plan Care Program for eligible state employees and their dependents. This program helps connect members with experienced surgical specialists and facilities for certain planned, non-emergency procedures, including many orthopedic and spine surgeries.

For eligible members, the program is designed to make surgery more affordable, easier to navigate, and more convenient by guiding patients to approved providers that meet established standards for high-quality outcomes, safety, and patient experience.

What Is the Lantern Care Program?

The Lantern Care Program is offered through the NC State Health Plan and focuses on eligible elective surgeries and procedures. Members who qualify for the program may receive certain surgeries with reduced out-of-pocket costs, including potential $0 copays and deductibles for approved procedures.

In addition to helping lower costs, Lantern provides personalized support throughout the process. Members are paired with a Care Advocate who helps coordinate appointments, answer questions, and guide patients through each step of their surgical journey.

The goal of the program is to simplify the experience for patients while helping them access trusted specialty care close to home.

As a participating provider in the Lantern program, Raleigh Orthopaedic is proud to offer eligible state employees access to specialized orthopedic care throughout the Triangle region. Patients can receive expert evaluation, treatment, surgery, and follow-up care from a team dedicated exclusively to orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.

With six clinic locations across the Raleigh area, patients have convenient access to orthopedic specialists for bone, joint, sports medicine, and spine conditions. Raleigh Orthopaedic also operates two AAAHC-accredited outpatient surgery centers, allowing many procedures to be performed in a safe, efficient, and specialized outpatient setting.

In addition to surgical care, patients benefit from integrated physical therapy and rehabilitation services, helping support recovery before and after surgery. Our team also prioritizes conservative, non-surgical treatment options whenever appropriate.
