Why choose us
The primary goal at West Cary Physical Therapy is to treat everyone as a family. As part of a wellness physical therapy model, you’ll be part of a holistic approach to physical therapy that focuses on physical education and conditioning, as well as quality of life and a sense of wellbeing. Services range from practical options such as balance and falls risk screening to fitness evaluations and pilates classes. Our physical therapist has extensive experience in different approaches to different therapies and outpatient orthopedics, meaning your journey will be uniquely your own.
Kathy has been a physical therapist for 15 years, and has a variety of experience with acute rehab, hippotherapy, ergonomics, and outpatient orthopedics. She has owned her own business evaluating and treating competitive figure skaters in Acton, Massachusetts. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Rehabilitation Science, a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University, and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Simmons College in Boston. Kathy became certified in assessing ergonomics through the Back School of Atlanta and earned her certifications for functional movement screening and performing the Graston technique.
Kathy moved from the Boston area with her family to North Carolina, and enjoys spending time with her family, playing with their dog, baking, hiking, exercising, swimming, pilates, meditating and going to the beach.
Please come to your first appointment 30 minutes early with your photo ID, insurance card and if applicable, any images or scans related to your visit. If your insurance plan has a copay, that will be collected at time of check-in. At your first appointment with West Cary Physical Therapy, you will be expected to complete new patient forms, including a medical history questionnaire. You can update your demographics and fill out your new patient forms prior to your appointment through our Patient Portal. These forms will be used to get a baseline overview of pre-existing conditions and a better initial understanding of where and how you’re experiencing pain or discomfort. Conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, anemia, obesity, hypertension, and diabetes may all impact both diagnosis and treatment plan options.
