Raleigh Orthopaedic has four urgent care locations in Wake County, located in Raleigh, Garner, Holly Springs, and Wakefield.
Each is part of our clinic locations. Please find details for each urgent care location listed below.

When Should I Visit An Urgent Care?

Injuries can happen at any time, and sometimes you aren’t sure if you want to spend the whole evening at a hospital for something as small as an x-ray or sports injury. Or you have a cut or sprain, something that isn’t an absolute emergency, but you still need a doctor that same day.
Our Orthopedic Urgent Care Centers specialize in minor injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, sprains, dislocations, casting and splinting and more.
With certified orthopedic providers on call to provide the best care possible, you can now walk-in to any of our urgent care centers without the need for an appointment and skip the ER. See below for reasons why you should visit our Ortho Urgent Care, and
see our comprehensive list on Orthopedic Urgent Care vs. ER vs. Physician’s Office.

The physician assistant or nurse practitioner will perform an examination, order X-rays (if needed), provide a diagnosis, and treat the specific injury. If the urgent care provider determines that a physician is needed for consultation or treatment, a referral to one of our orthopedic physicians at the location of your choice will be made.

Medical Staff at Raleigh Orthopaedic Urgent Care:

At Raleigh Orthopaedic Urgent Care, a physician assistant or nurse practitioner will examine you, order X-rays if needed, provide a diagnosis, and treat your specific injury. If the physician assistant or nurse practitioner determines that a physician is needed for your issue, a referral to one of our orthopedic physicians at the location of your choice will be made.

Urgent X-Rays and Imaging Services

Our Urgent Care Centers are staffed with trained clinical assistance trained in orthopedics. We also have specialized x-ray technicians and our walk-in facilities have both x-ray and MRI.

Important Note About X-Rays and Imaging Records

If you had X-rays taken at another facility, please bring a physical copy (CD preferred) with you to our urgent care center.
Otherwise, we may need to repeat your X-rays.
If you need emergency room attention, please go to UNC Rex Hospital. Raleigh Orthopaedic specialists are available at UNC Rex Hospital and on call 24/7 for orthopedic trauma. To make an appointment to see an orthopedic physician who specializes in your condition or injury, please call 919.781.5600 to find a location near you.

Why Choose Urgent Care?

  • Cost effective – Most unexpected injuries do not require a trip to the emergency room. Raleigh Orthopaedic Urgent Care provides patients with immediate access to expert care, at the cost of a regular doctor’s office visit rather than the high cost of an ER visit. To help make using our practice and services as convenient as possible for our patients and families, Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic accepts many major health insurance plans.
  • Specialized care – Orthopedic providers are trained and skilled at identifying and treating bone, joint, and muscle injuries. At standard urgent care centers, these types of injuries are referred out to an orthopedic specialist. Going through the referral process will increase the time spent traveling to receive appropriate treatment. You can avoid additional steps by going directly to a clinic designed to provide same-day treatment to orthopedic cases.
  • No appointment necessary – Unlike scheduling a primary care or specialist visit, there is no need to make an appointment at an urgent care center. Walk-ins are welcome. Urgent care is available 8am-8pm, 7 days a week at Raleigh Orthopaedic’s Edwards Mill clinic. We also offer urgent care services at our Holly Springs, Wakefield, and Garner clinics, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
