How Does Workers’ Compensation Work at Raleigh Orthopaedic?
To better help us serve you, please review the following information regarding the workers’ compensation referral process.
To request a workers’ compensation appointment with one of Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic doctors, we ask that the employer or insurance carrier complete the workers’ compensation information sheet and fax to (919-863-6809. Once the form is received, we will contact the requesting party to schedule an appointment at a convenient time.
For questions or concerns regarding workers’ compensation appointments, please contact our Workers’ Compensation Hotline: (919) 863-6804.
Occasionally an independent medical exam or second opinion is necessary to provide the appropriate treatment to the injured worker. A “special exam” is required if the patient’s date of injury exceeds two months and they have been treated by another specialist (orthopedist, neurologist, neurosurgeon, physiatrist, podiatrist, etc.). The injured worker’s medical records will be reviewed before scheduling an appointment.
To schedule an IME or second opinion, the workers’ compensation information sheet must be completed and all relevant medical records faxed to 919-863-6809 or emailed to rocspec@raleighortho.com. If medical records exceed 300 pages, you may mail them to:

The key to a timely plan of care is persistence. Our team will actively attempt to obtain authorization for any procedure, diagnostic test, or surgery the Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic provider recommended.
For questions or concerns regarding the authorization status, please contact our Workers Compensation Hotline at (919) 863-6804.
