Tyler Steven Watters, MD of Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic was selected to present cutting-edge research findings at the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) 26th Annual Meeting. The three day international meeting, held on November 10-13, 2016 in Dallas, Texas, was designed to address a broad array of scientific topics such as implant design, outcomes, surgical techniques and complications of primary and revision total joint arthroplasty (TJA) for hip and knee surgeons.
Dr. Watters presented his recent research “Porous-Coated Metaphyseal Sleeves for Severe Femoral and Tibial Bone Loss in Revision Total Knee Arthroplasty: An Excellent Reconstructive Option with Lasting Fixation” to an audience of more than 500 hip and knee surgeons from around the world. The large retrospective series illustrates the utility of porous metaphyseal sleeves in revision TKA with a low rate of intraoperative complications, excellent osteointegration and long-term fixation.
