Raleigh Orthopaedic Total Joint Replacement Surgeons Co-Author Article in the Journal of Arthroplasty

January 27, 2017 | Tyler Steven Watters, MD

David Clinton McNabb, MD and Tyler Steven Watters, MD of Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic co-authored an article accepted for publication in the Journal of Arthoplasty, a peer-reviewed journal that brings together the clinical and scientific foundations for joint replacement. The title of publication is “Femoral Implant Design Modification Decreases the Incidence of Patellar Crepitus in Total Knee Arthroplasty” and is already published online. Drs. McNabb and Watters, along with their colleagues, performed a comparative study of patients who had undergone total knee arthroplasty with a more modern implant design compared to an older, more traditional implant design. The study found a lower incidence of patellar crepitus and patellofemoral symptoms with the modern implant design.  Drs. McNabb and Watters are both fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeons specializing in Total Joint Replacement and Revision Surgery.
