Tyler Steven Watters, MD of Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic was co-author for article recently published in the June, 2018 issue of the Journal of Arthoplasty , a peer-reviewed journal that brings together the clinical and scientific foundations for joint replacement.

The study, “Midterm Prospective Comparative Analysis of 2 Hard-on-Hard Bearing Total Hip Arthroplasty Designs,” conducted by Dr. Watters and his colleagues at the Colorado Joint Replacement Center, used comparative outcomes including clinical scores, revision or reoperation for any reason, complication rates, and radiographic outcomes to support the use of Ceramic on Ceramic as a viable option that may reduce long-term wear in younger patients. Dr. Watters specializes in adult reconstructive joint replacement surgery, focusing on total hip replacement, total knee replacement, partial knee replacement, and revision surgery. Dr. Watters is skilled in multiple approaches for total hip replacement, including the direct anterior approach, an alternative approach to conventional hip replacement surgery that potentially allows for faster recovery.
