Program Information

Description:  The purpose of the 25th Annual Dameron Lectureship in Orthopaedics is to update clinical knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions for the primary care provider. This session content will be practical and immediately useful in the office while caring for patients with musculoskeletal issues.
Audience:  Physicians in Internal Medicine, Family Practice and Pediatrics, Advanced Practice Providers, Nurses, Occupational and Physical Therapists

Objectives:  1. Differentiate between rotator cuff tears, shoulder bursitis and osteoarthritis of the shoulder.
  2. Develop an accurate differential diagnosis of knee pain in the young and older patient.
  3. Identify non-arthritic causes of hip pain in the young and middle-aged patient.
  4. Review different non-operative and operative management options for hip and knee osteoarthritis.
  5. Discuss the diagnosis, prevention and initial management of osteoporosis.
  6. Discuss biologic interventions for osteoarthritis.
  7. Expand the management of concussions.
  8. Review techniques for commonly performed injections for musculoskeletal disease.
