About Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center

As part of our main location in Raleigh, NC, the Surgical Center represents one of our two main locations for surgeries to be performed under the Raleigh Orthopaedic name. Although we strive to provide our patients with nonsurgical solutions to their orthopedic issues whenever possible, surgery is necessary in some cases. When that is the case, your surgeon at Raleigh Orthopaedic will walk you through your options and ensure that you feel confident in your care plan. We are proud to help our patients live and move more comfortably and get back to sports, work, and daily life as efficiently as possible.

The surgery center, which is located near the North Carolina Museum of Art and across from UNC REX Hospital, is easily accessible from Route 40 and Route 440. Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and is the first outpatient surgery center in the Triangle.

Why Choose Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center?

The Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center, which opened in the spring of 2013, brings together two premier organizations to provide patients with a new level of orthopedic surgical excellence. We are the largest outpatient surgery center in the Triangle to specialize exclusively in orthopedics, and our patients experience outstanding patient satisfaction, superior clinical outcomes, and reduced costs.

The surgical center, at 27,707 square feet, is the largest and most modern outpatient orthopedic facility in Eastern North Carolina. In addition to modern and comfortable amenities for those in the waiting room, there are 7 pre-operative bays, 2 large procedure rooms, 4 operating rooms, 8 stage I recovery bays, and 9 stage II recovery bays.

However, most patients don’t choose us for our modern facilities and the latest surgical technology. We’re the choice for orthopedic surgery in the Triangle community because we stick to our commitment to patient-focused care. Your treatments are always physician-directed, and our surgical staff consists of surgeons trusted by everyone from professional and amateur athletes to families and seniors. For the most comfortable experience and the best long-term outcome, trust Raleigh Orthopaedic. Good facility, good customer service in general from the moment you walk in. Good Physicians and Nurses. Convenient location with plenty of parking and seating area in the lobby. One of the very few surgery centers that keeps option of complementary coffee/tea while waiting. It also has drinks/snacks vending machines. The place is clean and well maintained including restrooms. The lobby has chairs with/without attached small trays for laptops or food so is convenient if you have to work remotely while waiting.

Wonderful group for all ortho needs! I recommend Dr Jernigan for elbows!
The entire team was very professional and respectful. My husband and I was treated like family and taken very much care of. I had the best care from the time I walked through the door. My pre op nurse did a wonderful job with finding my vein for my IV because I have very small veins and they like to move. Recovery nurse name was Shannon and she was the sweetest and most kind lady to my husband and I. She made surely husband and I was comfortable and did not rush me at all afterwards. The team I had on the day of surgery was the best starting with Dr. Barker my surgeon , Kim with registration, Natalia with pre op, Pamela Dina in the OR, Shannon in recovery, and Dr. Monaco with anesthesia. Thank you all again for such a great experience during and after surgery. I do have to give one shout out to everyone on Dr. Barker’s team from clinical team, administrative assistant, and surgery coordinator.Thank you all so so much.
All in all I have had two very positive experiences at the Raleigh Orthopedic Surgery Center. I was surprised by the lack of attention when I arrived. It is not typical of every other experience I have had at the surgery center.

Amazing from beginning to end. Would highly recommend and happy my friend recommended Dr. Barker and Raleigh Ortho to me!I came from Greensboro to Raleigh to meet with Dr. Barker for a second opinion on my shoulder (after a fall and visiting a local ortho office in Greensboro). Dr. Barker and his team have answered every question I’ve had and been very kind, professional, and patient focused. Dr. Barker displayed his care for my well-being from the very beginning (referred me to another specialist to make sure nothing else was going on from my fall).Raleigh Ortho has been efficient (from scheduling, to billing, to post op) and a pleasure to work with. I had no concerns going into my surgery and I had confidence that if any arose, I would be able to get them resolved quickly. Thanks for a wonderful surgical experience!

I had a wonderful experience at Panther Creek surgical faculty. Checked in was quick. My pre-op nurse was Alison. She was sweet and friendly. Walked us through everything even chatted up with my husband. She did an amazing job getting my IV in because my veins don’t always cooperate. My doctor was Dr. Evan James. He has been great and bedside manner is wonderful. The team of OR nurses were sweet and got me all set up. Once in recovery I had nurses Sheila and Judy. Both were super nice. Sheila sat with my husband and explained all my meds and went over paperwork. If you need to have any procedure with Raleigh Orthopedics this is the place. Everything went so smooth.
Very convenient to Rex Hospital if needed.Very easy for me to get from Apex area to, with or without the belt line.Building well marked from south.Google is inaccurate, no U turn, just a regular left in a turning lane when approaching from the south direction.Park watchfully since usually very busy.Easy to get to correct office.Staff EXCELLENT.
