Southeast Raleigh High School Selects Raleigh Orthopaedic as Official Team Physician

Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic is pleased to announce they have been selected as the official team physician for Southeast Raleigh High School. Dr. Edwin Cadet, will serve Orthopaedic Surgery Consultant and he will be responsible for the treating student-athletes’ orthopaedic injuries or conditions during the season alongside the Athletic Director, Mr. Keith Boddie, and the school.

Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic also serves as the official team physician for the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, North Carolina State University and five local high schools, including: Broughton High School, Garner Magnet High School, Sanderson High School, Southeast Raleigh High School and South Garner High School. The physicians at Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic are experts in the field of sports medicine, and have the knowledge and experience to treat athletes of all ages and skill.

About Dr. Cadet:
Dr. Cadet is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Shoulder and Sports Medicine, specializing in arthroscopic and open techniques to address disorders affecting the shoulder, knee, hip and elbow. He has a special interest towards the care of athletes as he himself was a NCAA Division I track and field athlete while attending Brown University. His particular clinical interests include rotator cuff and labral tears, shoulder instability (e.g. shoulder dislocations), shoulder trauma, shoulder osteoarthritis (shoulder replacement), knee ligament injuries (e.g., anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), athletic hip disorders (e.g., hip arthroscopy for management of labral tears and femoroacetabular impingement), and cartilage disorders.

Dr. Cadet joined Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic in August of 2013 from New York City, where he served as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and an Assistant Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. While on the Shoulder, Elbow and Sports Medicine Service at Columbia University, Dr. Cadet also served as the Director of Hip Arthroscopy.
