Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic welcomes a new physician to the practice, Dr. Michael Casale. Dr. Casale is a fellowship trained orthopaedic specializing in foot and ankle treatments, including nonsurgical and surgical care.
Dr. Casale grew up in Cary, NC and began his academic career at the University of North Carolina, where he graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Dr. Casale then completed his surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. During his residency. Dr. Casale was awarded the Resident of the Year award in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery as well as the Edward Frohlich Writing Award for outstanding resident research. He was also named a resident scholar by the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. After his residency, he completed a fellowship in Foot and Ankle surgery at the University of Virginia.
“The opportunity to return to my hometown and join the ROC team to provide comprehensive foot and ankle care to the people of the Triangle is a dream come true,” said Dr. Casale.
Dr. Casale has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters, and has given multiple podium and poster presentations at national and international conferences. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS).
