Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic's Athletic Performance Center to Host the Warrior Challenge

On Saturday, December 3, 2011, the Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic Athletic Performance Center in Raleigh will be hosting the inaugural APC Warrior Challenge to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. This event combines the World's Strongest Man and the NFL combine to give athletes an opportunity to test their overall strength and athletic skills.

Competitive athletes are invited to participate in teams of four to complete ten challenges to test their speed, strength and agility, and spectators are welcome to watch the competitors tackle the obstacles. The teams will be divided into three divisions, men's scholastic division (ages 14-25), men's adult division (ages 26 and up), and a women's division (ages 14 and up) to compete in the following events: vertical jump, 40 yard dash, L-drill, team relay sprint obstacle course, heavy prowler push, pull-ups, heavy tire flips, push-ups, a one-mile bike challenge, and a strength medley team relay. Video demonstrations of the challenges are available on the Athletic Performance Centers website at www.apcraleigh.com.

If teams register for the Warrior Challenge by November 16, 2011, they will receive a discounted registration fee of $120 per team, with additional discounts offered for military, law enforcement, and firefighter personnel. The event registration includes: registration fees and t-shirts for four team members. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring and empowering wounded warriors.
