According to the article published in The Wall Street Journal on February 14, 2012 "Study Shows Knee Surgeons Have a Learning Curve," orthopaedic surgeons with more experience performing repairs of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) have better outcomes. The study found if the patient's ACL repair surgery was among the first 10 cases of a surgeon's career, the patient had about five times the risk of having another ACL repair within a year compared to a patient whose surgeon had performed more than 150 operations in their career.

At Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic, our surgeons performed over 250 ACL repairs in 2011, and over 8,500 other orthopaedic procedures.  Since Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic is the team physician for six area high schools, NC State University, and the Carolina Hurricanes Professional Hockey Team, our surgeons have experience performing ACL repairs on high school, collegiate, and professional athletes, as well as weekend warriors. In addition, our Athletic Performance Centers, which specialize in sports performance and sport physical therapy for healthy and injured athletes, are staffed by extremely skilled physical therapists with ACL experience. They work closely with our surgeons to tailor rehabilitation programs for the individual. We also offer preventative educational programs to reduce the risk of injury.
