Dr. Lyman Smith and Dr. David Boone Selected to Speak at Sports Injuries Seminar

Raleigh, NC (January 16, 2012) – Lyman Smith, MD and David Boone, MD of Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic have been selected to speak at the ACO Med Supply Clinical Education Program. The conference, to be held at the Murphy Center in Raleigh, North Carolina on January 18, 2012, is intended to provide continued education for individuals in the field of Sports Medicine. This year's Sports Injuries Seminar will feature timely presentations on the diagnosis and treatment of multiple sports-related lower extremity injuries. Dr. Smith was selected to address Foot and Ankle Tendon Injuries, and Dr. Boone was selected to address Posterior Ankle Impingement and Osteochondral Lesions of the Talus.

Dr. Smith is a board certified sport medicine surgeon. Prior to joining Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic in 1991, he received his medical degree from Duke University, completed his internship and residency at the University of Virginia, and he completed a sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute. Dr. Smith currently serves as a team physician for North Carolina State University and Garner High School.

Dr. Boone is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with extensive training in foot and ankle surgery. He has also achieved board certification in orthopaedic sports medicine. Prior to joining Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic in 1994, he received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, completed his internship and residency at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, and he completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Boone currently serves as a team physician for North Carolina State University and Sanderson High School.
