2010 Durant Medical Center Health Fair

Raleigh, N.C. (April 13, 2010) – On Saturday, May 8, 2010, the medical practices in the Durant Medical Center are partnering to host the first annual Durant Medical Center Health Fair.

Children and families are invited to participate in this free health fair on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Durant Medical Center located at 10880 Durant Road in Raleigh, NC from 10 AM-2 PM.  The event is sponsored by Carolina Back Institute, Raleigh Ophthalmology, Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic, Wake Internal Medicine & Pediatrics and Alta Oak Ridge.

The purpose of the health fair is to encourage community members to be proactive about their own health care.  Free screenings will be offered, including body fat percentage, blood pressure, glucose, lasik, nutrition and scoliosis.  Attendees will have the opportunity to receive a complimentary chair massage, and Stormy, the Carolina Hurricanes mascot will make an appearance.

 In addition, participants can attend one or both of two 30-minute “Ask the Expert” sessions. “Ask the Orthopedist” starts at 11:00 a.m., and “Ask the Pediatrician” begins at 12:30 p.m. To RSVP, e-mail ksmith@raleighortho.com or call (919) 863-6805.
