Wallace F. Andrew, Jr., MD

Dr. Andrew has retired from Raleigh Orthopaedic.

Dr. Andrew's farewell letter:

Dear Friends,

As you may know, I retired from the Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic at the end of December 2015. Making this decision was bitter sweet. I think the timing is right and I look forward to having more time to travel other venues. Kathy and I have 6 young grandchildren here in Raleigh and I relish spending more time with them. I plan to go to every athletic event and recital that they take part in. I know I will not miss the day-to-day hassles and headaches, and the pressure that physicians find themselves under. I also know quite well that I will miss the people. I will miss my staff and the people in the background who have supported Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic and made it what it has been over the years. Most of all, I will miss the relationships that I have developed with you, my patients, over the years.

I came to Raleigh in 1981 and have been privileged to spend 34-1/2 years working at the Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic. I thank you for trusting me to provide orthopedic care for you over the years. The many patients who have become friends have been invaluable and cherished, and I look forward to seeing many of you in the future.

As far as follow-up care is concerned, I think we have an excellent group of providers that can take care of your needs. Dr. Harrison Tuttle and Dr. Scott Wein are both caring and highly trained hand surgeons who can provide treatment for you going forward. We also have a new physician, Dr. Joseph Schrieber, joining the practice to take my place in August 2016. Dr. Schrieber is currently doing a hand surgery fellowship at Stanford and will be a great addition to our team.

Thank you again for trusting me with your care over the years. I know I will miss that. All of my best to you and your family for future good health.
