CORE Program Circuit Training:

The CORE Program offers daily circuit training programs aimed to increase your health and fitness level through resistance training, core activity training, and aerobic conditioning in a time efficient 30-45 minute program.

Monday/Wednesday/Friday Mornings: 6:30a-7:00a

Tuesday/ Thursday Evenings: 5:30p-6:00p or 6:15p-6:45p

Circuit Training groups meet in the CORE gym. The gym is open 15 minutes before and after each workout session for proper independent warm-up and cool down activities.
*First time participants should plan to arrive 15 minutes early for our staff to instruct you in the proper warm-up and cool down techniques as well as orientation.

CORE Program Group Fitness Classes:

The CORE Program group fitness classes are led by licensed and certified professionals that help guide people of all ages though the CORE Programs to achieve improved orthopaedic health and wellness. All group fitness classes are located in the CORE gym on the lower level of the Raleigh Orthopaedic Glenwood Avenue Office.

Class Descriptions:

  • n' More: Basics of Spinal Stabilization and Strengthening (2 levels available)
    This one hour class focuses on the following aspects:
         - Proper warm-up and cool down
         - Correct use of core muscles during posture, exercises, and functional activities
         - Core Strengthening and Flexibility 
  • Joints in Motion: Health and Wellness for the Aging Joint (2 levels available)
    This one hour class is geared towards to clients with joint protection in mind. This class focuses on the following aspects:      
         - Proper warm-up and cool down
         - Total body stretching and flexibility exercises
         - Safe posture and body mechanics
         - Total body strengthening program
         - Keys to maintaining happy joints through exercise and activity modification 

    This class is ideal for pre-operative and post-operative total joint patients, degenerative joint disease/arthritis sufferers, and rotator cuff syndrome diagnoses.
  • Arthritis Foundation Tai Chi Class
    This one hour class meets twice a week for 8-weeks, and is designed by the Arthritis Foundation to help you reduce stress, increase balance and flexibility, feel relaxed and improve your overall mind, body and spirit.  This class is led by certified instructors, and includes warm-up and cool-down exercises, six basic CORE movements and six advanced extension moves, and direction changes to add challenge.

  • Arthritis Foundation Exercise Class
    This one hour class is specifically designed by the Arthritis Foundation for people requiring joint protection modifications due to arthritis and related diseases. The CORE Program Instructors went through a special Arthritis Foundation instructor-training workshop to conduct these classes.
